Legacy Giving Month - Briercrest Bible College and Seminary

Our Legacy Giving Month celebration continues as we recognize the work of our CAGP member organizations.

Briercrest College and Seminary is a community of learning that calls students to seek the kingdom of God, to be shaped profoundly by the Scriptures, and to be formed spiritually and intellectually for lives of service.

Briercrest is a partnership of three Christ-centred, Bible-anchored, ministry-focused schools: Briercrest Christian Academy, Briercrest College, and Briercrest Seminary. It is situated in a close-knit community that is ideal for spiritual reflection yet offers one of the most extensively developed Christian education campuses in Canada.

We have been married for 63 years. On our wedding day, we had a theme that has gone with us all these years, "United to Serve", each other, our family, friends, and our world.

Receiving our first meager paycheck we began the lifelong habit of giving God our tithe, one tenth of our paycheck to our local church and other ministries.

God surprisingly directed us to a financial advisor who helped us increase our ability to give to God's work. We eventually set up a Memorial Fund in our names that gives a portion of our income and earnings to charities of our choice.

This memorial fund increases each year. Our desire is to give as much as possible to charities encouraging the work of God in our needy world and in so doing it lessens our taxes to the government.

We now have four charities we give to on a regular basis through this memorial fund. Briercrest is dear to our hearts. We both graduated from Briercrest in 1957 and then served on the staff for over six years. We love the direction Briercrest is choosing to emphasize and want this to continue to be part of our financial support.

This memorial fund is in perpetuity. When we both are in Heaven, this fund keeps giving in our name. We can't think of a better legacy to leave than to bless our family and give generously to the work of God across our world, continuing to be "United to Serve".
