Leave a Legacy Month - South Saskatchewan Community Foundation

Our month-long Leave a Legacy Celebration continues as we recognize the work of our CAGP member organizations. Among its many other activities, The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation moved swiftly in 2020 to establish the Emergency Response Fund for Community Needs. This initiative was intended to address urgent community needs resulting from the pandemic.

More than $1 million, including the assistance of a matching $500,000 made available from the estate of a generous founding member of the Foundation and donations rallied by community leaders, was quickly made available to 34 organizations. This fund provided urgent help for addressing food security issues, shelter shortages, helping with children’s needs, and meeting the most vulnerable populations’ needs.
